DAMN... THAT HOUSE IN MY TOWN WOULD BE $350,000. I dont think you could get land at $174k, any house at that price would be a teardown. what are you doing there?

On the opposite end, that house would be about $110k where I live. Cost of living differences in the US are crazy.

Added link to zillow listing. So when the garage was cut up and added door to separate basement access they put vermiculite in between the ceiling studs of the living section. We are taking that out.

Guessing by the architecture and price, the south?
In a relatively nice neighborhood, it’d be more like 750K (or more) in the eastside Seattle suburbs.

I paid less than 70k for my house, and while it was cosmetically outdated, the structure was sound. Corner lot, attached garage, brick exterior. The house in the picture would be maybe 120k here.

Or in my town you can have 200 less sq . ft. inside, 1000 less outside and 1.5 fewer bathrooms all for the low low price of $126k more. $300,000.

I understand why, but it still amazes me how much home prices vary depending on location.

Except for some outdated appliances and whatnot that looks pretty nice. Is it staged or do they actually have it furnished like that?

What. People are saying that would be way more expensive around them, and I’m here thinking I’ve seen similar houses going for like $80-130k around me, depending on the neighborhood, and that looks like a bad deal.

That’s the price of another house. Damn. Although that one is updated. Looks nice. & + for a detached garage.

I think the guy still lives here. He came to the door when we backed the truck up so he could pull his car out. That was at 7:45am.

I just find it funny with all the modern touches it still has an old outdated oven and mis-matched fridge. And those cabinets, YUCK.

This is the lowest listed house in my town. I bought mine for $235 as a dump. I personally redid the entire first floor.

Close but so far.
Not sure how a 9500 sq ft lot is a third of an acre (must be wrong number), but man, if I lived there I’d be hoarding parts cars and have too many projects.

That house would be well over a million here on Miami Beach, but my apartment has more square feet than the house....

That house would be $500,000 in my town. You can’t buy a shed for $80k here.

You’d probably shit yourself if you see what house prices in NJ are. That house is an easy $250-$300k around where I live.

In my town (built mostly between 1890 and 1950) an attached garage is unheard of. My house (1917) doesn’t even have a garage, but the timber to build it came from the same source as the railroad (which was based in the town) so it’s entirely cedar beams and boards throughout the house.
When we bought it, it didn’t even have a shed, that was remedied.

And in certain areas surrounding DC that’s a $650,000 home :(
I hate the local housing market

Yep. My wife and I popped into some open houses yesterday and I found a few we liked with garages. They all ran between 800K and 1.3mil. Sigh.

Having a garage and a low chance of getting shot is a costly thing in DC
